Sales/Customer Service Assistant (Vendeur / Vendeuse)

So, what does a Vendeur / Vendeuse do?
Generally speaking…
The Vendeur and Vendeuse are there to make their day – with a coffee, a croissant, a sandwich and a smile.
You’ll be full of ideas about how to improve the products and service we offer. You’ll also be responseble for some of the day-to-day logistical operations of the shop and be given a degree of creative freedom for meeting sales targets.
You will be report to Store/Sales Manager of the shop.
La Boulangerie is open 7 days per week, and there are several full and part-time positions available and some so flexibility over working early/late shifts and at weekends will ly be necessary.
Duties
Operating the till
Stock control, handling deliveries and associated database.
General shop cleanliness and hygiene and ad hoc duties as required.
Skills
Must have excellent mental maths, and verbal/written communication skills in English and French is highly desirable.
Creative and quick in the kitchen with excellent organisation – eg. to be able to chat and spread mayonnaise at the same time…!
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Initiative to undertake tasks and activities autonomously according to clearly
set-out cash and customer service targets.
Qualifications
Mathematics – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) is desirable.
Experience
Previous culinary retail service is highly desirable – though, we recognise that some people are just naturally brilliant at making others feel special, and that might just be you.
